If you are the owner of a body shop, and you are looking to start managing some of the aluminum vehicles that come out for repair, there are a few things that you will need to look at first. You need to let the insurance companies that you usually work with know that you are getting equipped to meet the aluminum guidelines. Ask if they have some sort of requirements document that they have put together so you know what you’re working with. It has been reported that insurance company’s are going to make a short list of body shops that do the work so you want to make sure that you quickly get onto that list.

Whatever equipment that you still need to get to get up to standard, then you will need to go and get that as soon as possible. The insurance company can give you a cut off date so that you know when to have it by in order to get on that list.

Once you have the space and equipment ready to go, you need to sit down and figure out your advertisement and social media strategy. You’ve invested and will need to try to get a return on your investment.

Next, have you gotten your technician or yourself trained up on how to do this type of work? Do you know a PDR Technician that can help you? You can contact us here at Paintless Dent Repair Training Academy and we will work with you to get that training set up for you or hook you up with a PDR Technician in your area. You want to get ahead of the ball on this one or you will be behind with the shops that get no insurance referrals and you will have to turn away customers, which if you know anything about marketing, once they go somewhere else, they have no reason to come back to you.
